Winter Coastal Collaborative Wine+Maker Dinner with Chef Matt Elias
We are gathering together to celebrate and highlight Sonoma + Marin County maker and growers. We will be featuring Jennifer Reichardt of Raft Wines + Liberty Duck along with Lynn Giacomini-Stray of Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company.
Jennifer Reichardt was born and raised in Sonoma County, California and from day one, has lived a life centered in food production. Her passion for good, quality food, transferred to the way Jennifer approached a career in winemaking. In Autumn 2011, she completed her first harvest in Sonoma County and she was able to greater look into the inter-workings of what it takes to make a great bottle of wine. Many vintages later, she launched her own brand in 2016, Raft Wines.
A raft, by definition, is a community of waterfowl, like ducks, and the philosophy behind the brand is to craft a wine that is shared with a community - whether it be around a dinner table, or at a picnic with friends. Raft Wines focuses on hand-crafted, small lot wines from vineyards farmed sustainably and organically. She currently splits her time between the family business, Sonoma County Poultry, Liberty Ducks, and Raft Wine.
Jennifer was recognized as a top 40 under 40 tastemaker by Wine Enthusiast in 2019!
It seemed only natural that we would pair Jennifer's luscious wines with her father's famous foul. And what goes well with Sangiovese and Liberty Duck? Blue cheese! (and many other award-winning cheeses) produced by the Giacomini family just down the road in Point Reyes.
Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company is a family affair. The Giacomini family has been farming in Point Reyes for over four generations. They say the first ingredients in their cheeses are native grass and cool ocean air. Some say they can taste it. The Pacific coastal fog that so often settles over and lightly salts the pastures of Giacomini Ranch. The crisp, pristine air. The lush, rye grass. Each play a vital role in the creation of their expanding cheese selection.
Lynn Giacomini-Stray will speak to her family's roots, working alongside her sisters to carry on the family business, the importance of our local foodshed and collaborating with one another to showcase the fruits of our region!
Enjoy a four-course, ingredient driven and seasonally inspired meal prepared by Dillon Beach Coastal Kitchen's Executive Chef Matt Elias paired with Jen's wines.
